Chris Bassitt Allows Three Runs In Opening Day Loss
4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Chris Bassitt allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while taking the loss against the Astros. Bassitt struck out three in his 5 1/3 innings pitched on Opening Day. The 32-year-old righty pitched to a strong 2.29 ERA last season, but a 4.49 xFIP implies his ERA is due for some regression. Bassitt isn't a strikeout artist, he averages only 7.7 K/9 for his career, so he'll need to keep his ratios strong to produce for fantasy managers. Bassitt is a quality starter to roster in 12-team leagues who can be deployed when he has a good matchup. That won't be the case in his next start against the mighty Dodgers.
