4 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 1-for-4 with one walk and two runs scored in the Astros 8-1 victory over the A's on Opening Day. The former MVP is out to prove the doubters wrong this season, especially after slashing .219/.286/.344 during the shortened 2020 season. Altuve hit leadoff and set the table nicely, reaching base twice and scoring both times. The days of 20-plus home runs may be gone for Altuve but the veteran possesses enough skills to be an above-average leadoff man for a dangerous Astros offense.--Joey C - RotoBaller
