Yordan Alvarez Racks Up Three RBI In Win
4 years agoHouston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez went 1-for-3 with three runs batted in as the Astros beat the A's 8-1 on Opening Day. It was a lost season last year for Alvarez as he dealt with a knee injury. He was brought along slowly this spring but made his presence felt in the first game of the season. Alvarez drilled a double off the wall in the sixth inning to plate two runs and added a sacrifice fly later in the game. Alvarez burst on the scene in 2019, posting an impressive 1.067 OPS in 313 at-bats. If healthy, Alvarez could be a dangerous offensive force, even though the DH-label hurts his lineup flexibility in standard fantasy formats.
