Taylor Trammell To Start In Center Field On Opening Day
4 years agoSeattle Mariners center fielder Taylor Trammell will be the team's starting center fielder on Opening Day against the Giants. Trammell impressed this spring, collecting 14 hits, three home runs, nine RBI, and a pair of stolen bases, though he did have a concerning number of strikeouts in 19 spring games. The 23-year-old hasn't played above the Double-A level yet, though an immediate need opened up with Kyle Lewis (knee) sidelined for a couple of weeks. Trammell will face Giants' right-hander Kevin Gausman, who was equally tough on lefties during his superb 2020 season.
