Red Sox Set Back Half Of Opening Day Rotation
4 years agoThe Boston Red Sox will send Garrett Richards to the mound in the third game of the season, with Nick Pivetta and Martin Perez to start Games 4 and 5, according to The Athletic's Jen McCaffrey. McCaffrey adds that a final decision is expected on Wednesday, but Tanner Houck will likely be the Game 2 starter for Boston, while Eduardo Rodriguez will travel with the team to Boston where he'll be reevaluated as to whether he will play. Looking at their scheduled matchups, Perez could be a good streaming option against the Rays, as he has had a decent spring with 12 strikeouts in 15 innings, and he'll be going up against a Tampa Bay team that had the second-highest strikeout rate in the majors last year at 26.9 percent.
