Trail Blazers Acquire Norman Powell
4 years agoThe Portland Trail Blazers have acquired forward Norman Powell from the Toronto Raptors. Portland agreed to send guard Gary Trent Jr. and guard Rodney Hood to Toronto in the deal. Powell gives the Trail Blazers a much-needed third scoring option behind Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, making them an even deadlier three-point shooting team in the process. The 27-year-old is in the midst of a breakout year, with career-best marks of 19.6 points per game and 2.8 triples made per game on 43.9 percent shooting. Powell's usage will drop down a few ticks in Portland, though he should get plenty of open looks with Lillard and McCollum attracting offensive attention.
