Packers Re-Sign Tight End Marcedes Lewis
4 years agoThe Green Bay Packers re-signed tight end Marcedes Lewis to a two-year, $8 million deal that includes $2.1 million guaranteed. Lewis has spent the last three seasons in Green Bay and caught only 10 passes for 107 yards three touchdowns in his 15th season last year. The Packers also signed long snapper Joe Fortunato on Wednesday. Lewis was mainly used as a blocker in 2020, with Robert Tonyan serving as the team's primary pass-catching tight end. Green Bay also has Jace Sternberger in the fold at the position, so Lewis will return to the same role he had last season. The former first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2006 has recorded 28 catches on 40 targets for 302 yards and four touchdowns in his three seasons with the Packers. He can be ignored in the vast majority of fantasy leagues.
