Marcell Ozuna Having Quiet Spring
4 years agoAtlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna has struggled at the plate this spring. Ozuna has just five hits in 37 plate appearances, though three of them have gone for extra bases- and he does have nine strikeouts compared to seven walks, so he's shown a patient eye at the dish. The walks are a good sign, given that he's increased his walk rate in each of the last two seasons. Expecting a repeat of Ozuna's monstrous 2020 performance over a full season is unrealistic- though his career .280 expected batting average, steady four-year increase in barrel rate, and 87th-percentile or better finishes in expected slugging over that same span provide plenty of reasons to trust him in fantasy. He's a good bet to return value at his 43 ADP in a strong Braves lineup in 2021.
