Zac Gallen Has Stress Fracture, No Timeline On Return
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen (arm) has been diagnosed with a "hairline stress fracture of his right lateral forearm at the radial end" and has not been given a timeline to return to action, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports. Gallen was scratched from his start on Monday with forearm soreness, and while there is no word yet on when he will return, he has been cleared to continue playing catch at "a lower stress level." Buchanan adds that tests have shown no damage or involvement of any soft tissue, including elbow ligaments. It appears that Gallen has avoided serious injury for now, but he will be out for some time, and it will cause many managers to think hard about whether Gallen should continue to be drafted at his current 42 ADP.
