4 years agoMiami Marlins relief pitcher (and presumed closer) Anthony Bass pitched a scoreless inning in Monday's Grapefruit League win against the St. Louis Cardinals. Bass pitched the eighth inning, allowing a hit while throwing a total of 13 pitches. His spring ERA sits at 2.45 and manager Don Mattingly has all but named Bass the closer at least for the start of the season. Bass doesn't have the huge strikeout upside of many other closers, but if he holds down the ninth inning job, he'll be worth having on the roster of any standard league team.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
