Trevor Larnach Drills First Spring Home Run On Sunday
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Trevor Larnach clubbed his first home run of the spring in Sunday's win over the Orioles. Larnach has only appeared in four Grapefruit League games so far for Minnesota, though he has two hits in eight at-bats- both of them for extra bases. The number-three ranked prospect in the Twins' organization sometimes gets overlooked with talk of Alex Kirilloff- though the former actually out-hit the latter during their time together in the minors. In 169 career minor league games, Larnach slashed .307/.385/.468 with 18 homers and 92 RBI while posting an 11.5 percent walk rate. He's likely to start the year at Triple-A, given that he's only played 43 games at Double-A, but the Twins believe he's very close to being major-league-ready. It's worth keeping an eye on Larnach as a possible waiver wire pickup in 2021.
