Brent Honeywell Jr. To Start Against Red Sox Monday
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Brent Honeywell Jr. (elbow) will get the start against the Red Sox on Monday, in what will be his first game appearance since September 2017, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Once one of the top pitching prospects in MLB, Honeywell has missed the last three seasons due to Tommy John surgery, a fractured elbow bone suffered while rehabbing from surgery, and then another surgery to remove scar tissue around his ulnar nerve last year. Honeywell will assuredly be facing strict pitch and innings limits this year as the Rays try to work him back into shape. Managers in dynasty leagues should keep an eye on him and consider stashing him now, as he could make an impact in fantasy as soon as 2022.
