Tanner Roark Torched By Yankees
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Tanner Roark allowed seven runs in just 2.1 innings of work and saw his spring ERA balloon to 8.44. He allowed eight hits and one walk while striking out five batters. The soft-tossing veteran right-hander is in the final year of his two-year contract with the Jays and looking to help provide stability to the bottom of the Jays' starting rotation. His spring performance — which has included 13 hits and 10 runs allowed in 10.2 innings — has done little to instill confidence although he does have a K-BB of 14-3. If Roark continues to struggle early in the season, he could end up in the bullpen or on the waiver wire. He had a 6.80 ERA in 11 games with the Jays in 2020.
