Xander Bogaerts' Spring Woes Continue Sunday
4 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts continued his Spring Training struggles on Sunday afternoon, as he finished 0-for-3 in a loss to the Pirates. Sunday's performance dropped Bogaerts' spring line to .188/.278/.313 with more strikeouts (4) than hits (3) in seven games. Bogaerts got off to a late start this spring as he dealt with a shoulder injury, and it's possible it could still be an issue that is affecting his numbers at the plate. Bogaerts is the highest drafted Red Sox player in fantasy currently with an ADP of 34, as he is coming off a 2020 campaign where he hit .300/.364/.502 with 11 homers in 56 games. Managers should continue to monitor Bogaerts' situation closely to see if he rebounds quickly, or if a trip to the injured list might be in the near future for him.
