Didi Gregorius Could Return On Saturday
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Didi Gregorius (concussion) was able to participate in all activities on Friday afternoon. Gregorius was placed in the concussion protocol after being hit in the back of the helmet by a pitch- though manager Joe Girardi said that the 31-year-old is "one positive evaluation from getting into a game." Gregorius could make his return to the lineup on Saturday, a good sign that the injury isn't something more long-term. The former Yankee was impressive for the Phillies in 2020, slashing .284/.339/.488 with 34 runs scored, 10 homers, and 40 RBI in 60 games. He's a viable late-round option for those who don't want to use early draft capital on the shortstop position.
