Dylan Bundy To Start Opening Day For Angels
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Dylan Bundy was recently named the team's Opening Day starter for their game against the White Sox. Manager Joe Maddon cited Bundy's strong 2020 season, as well as the fact that he believes the right-hander matches up well with a predominantly right-handed White Sox lineup. The 28-year-old broke out during the shortened 2020 season, pitching to career-best 3.29 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 65 2/3 innings pitched while posting the highest K-BB rate of his career. The Angels seemingly unlocked the best version of Bundy last season when they had him rely on off-speed stuff more often than he ever had- which makes his breakout seem sustainable. He's currently being selected outside the top-100 picks.
