Tanner Houck Gets Roughed Up Again
4 years agoBoston Red Sox starter Tanner Houck allowed three runs in 2 2/3 innings of work on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves. In three spring appearances, his ERA is now at 8.53 and he has an underwhelming K:BB of 4:10. Houck entered camp with an opportunity to secure one of the starting slots for the Red Sox, but his struggles could push him down to the club's alternate training site to work out the issues with his control to begin the season. The right-hander pitched very well in a brief MLB debut in 2020, when he allowed just six hits and struck out 21 batters in 17 innings. He's ranked by RotoBaller as the 94th-best prospect for dynasty baseball leagues.
