Didi Gregorius Checked For Concussion After HBP
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Didi Gregorius was removed from Tuesday's game due to concerns over a possible concussion, according to NBCSports' Jim Salisbury. Gregorius was hit in the back of the helmet by a pitch in the bottom of the second inning, and was eventually replaced defensively in the fourth inning. Manager Joe Girardi said Gregorius was only "grazed" by the pitch, and he passed on-field examination immediately afterwards. Girardi said that Gregorius was removed after complaining of a "minor, minor headache", so he was removed as a precaution. Salisbury writes that the Phillies expect to have a better picture of Gregorius' condition by Wednesday.
