Opening Day Start Likely For Lucas Giolito
4 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito hasn't been named the team's Opening Day starter, though it's all but official. Manager Tony La Russa hasn't settled on a name yet, though Giolito is lined up on his current schedule to take the mound for Chicago's opening game of the season on April 1. He's certainly looked the part of an ace this spring, striking out 11 batters in nine innings while allowing just one run on three hits. Giolito was the Opening Day starter last season for the White Sox in a year where he struck out a career-high 12.1 batters per nine innings. Fantasy managers should draft him with confidence.
