Jameson Taillon Looking Good This Spring
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings in Grapefruit League action on Friday against the Tigers. His command wasn't excellent, though, as he threw 28 of his 51 pitches for strikes while walking three. However, he allowed only two hits, struck out four and was clocked as high as 95.1 mph with his fastball. He averaged 93.9 mph with 28 fastballs, also mixing in 12 curveballs, nine sliders and two changeups. The right-hander wants to work mostly on his offspeed pitches before Opening Day. The 29-year-old has already had Tommy John surgery twice, but if he's healthy and using his nasty slider and four-seamer effectively, he could be an excellent value for fantasy managers.
