Zac Gallen Has Third Scoreless Start Of Spring Friday
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen kept his spring ERA at 0.00 on Friday afternoon, tossing 3 1/3 scoreless innings while allowing three hits and one walk with four strikeouts against the Angels. Gallen allowed most of his baserunners in the second inning, as he escaped a two-out, bases-loaded jam by getting Jose Iglesias to fly out to end the inning. He also held Angels slugger Mike Trout hitless in his first two at-bats, striking out Trout in the first inning and inducing a double play in the third inning. Gallen will need to work on cutting down his baserunners, as he has allowed six hits and four walks over 8 1/3 innings this spring, but he has also struck out eight batters in that span. Friday's outing further cements Gallen as the best fantasy player on the Diamondbacks and as a top-15 pitcher in drafts.
