Hunter Harvey Exits Friday With Oblique Injury
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles right-handed relief pitcher Hunter Harvey (oblique) made it just one pitch through his appearance Friday before departing with a left oblique injury. While Harvey appears to be fortunate in having escaped another shoulder/arm ailment, obliques can be finicky and take extended periods to heal. After having been a heralded prospect coming up through the Orioles' ranks, Harvey was set to finally take over a high-leverage role with the club at the start of 2021. His 10.7 K/9 average in the Minor Leagues showcased his potential closer-like stuff, with the injury possibly opening the door for Tanner Scott, Cesar Valdez or Dillon Tate to snag save chances, although who would get the ninth in place of Harvey is immediately unclear. Until Baltimore provides a timeline on Harvey's return, fantasy managers attempting to vulture saves can look elsewhere in season-long Drafts.
