4 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Alex Colome looked sharp in his third Grapefruit League appearance on Tuesday. Colome worked one inning, striking out the side on 15 pitches while inducing five swings-and-misses. The 32-year-old reliever now has six strikeouts in three innings pitched this spring, with all six coming on his cutter, a pitch that has been effective for him over each of the last two seasons. Colome has racked up 138 saves over the last five seasons and is giving himself a good chance at earning his new manager's trust in the closer role for the Twins, alongside Taylor Rogers.--Tim Capurso
