DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks for 3/9/21 - Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

CBB DFS lineup picks DraftKings NCAA daily college fantasy basketball

Mike Marteny offers his DraftKings daily fantasy college basketball sleepers for 3/9/21. His CBB DFS lineup picks and sleepers will help you win on DraftKings.

We have a split slate today with the ACC tournament starting us off in the afternoon. It's only a two-gamer, so this article will be dedicated to the six games at night. However, I won't totally leave you hanging. Duke guards, Justin Champagnie, CJ Felder and other Boston College forwards, and Miami value pieces. There. You're done! Now we can step into the contests at night in earnest.

We have the finals for the WCC, Horizon League, Summit League, CAA, and Northeastern Conferences tonight. Five of the six games on this slate have an automatic berth at stake. The one that doesn't, Wake Forest and Notre Dame, tallied 147 points in the regular season meeting. Gonzaga and BYU have by far the highest implied total at 154.5. None of the other four games break 140, though the Horizon final is right at 140. Elon-Drexel and Mount St. Mary's-Bryant barely break 130. Tread lightly with those two games.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/9/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Jalen Moore, Oakland ($9,500)

Moore played the entire game last night, but his 34 DraftKings points were rather pedestrian considering that he had three games over 45 DraftKings points leading into the Horizon League tournament. Moore is going to need a big game here if the 12-17 Grizzlies are going to make it to one of the play-in games next week. He racked up 74.5 DraftKings points in two games against Cleveland State this year, so he has the track record to prove it. Moore is the most likely player to break 40 on tonight's slate.

Torrey Patton, Cleveland State ($8,300)

Just like Moore is the most important piece to Oakland, Patton is for the Vikings. He tallied 75.75 DraftKings points in Cleveland State's two wins over Oakland back in early February. Patton has not been under 30 DraftKings points in a game since January 30 and has even topped 50 a couple of times. Moore may be the most likely to break 40, but Patton is the most likely to hit 50. I don't think it happens, but my point is that Patton's ceiling is higher, especially if this game goes in the 150's again. Both regular season meetings cleared 150 points with ease, so I'm not sure why the over/under is so low here.

Damian Chong Qui, Mount St. Mary's ($7,400)

You know how I'm big on watching the minutes, right? Well Chong Qui has played every minute of every game, including two overtime games, since February 12. Wagner held him under 30 DraftKings points in in the NEC quarterfinals, but only one other team has been able to do that since Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This has a slightly higher implied total than the Wagner game, so I feel good about Chong Qui getting back into the 30's here.

Cormac Ryan, Notre Dame ($5,700)

The guards for the Irish are getting expensive. That's why I'm pinching pennies and going for Ryan. Ryan has 56.5 DraftKings points in the first two games of March. That's just behind Prentiss Hubb and ahead of Dane Goodwin. Add in the fact that Ryan went for 32.5 DraftKings points in the only regular season game against Wake, which was more than Hubb and Goodwin had in that game, and he's looking like a nice bargain tonight.

Also consider: Max Abmas, Oral Roberts ($9,000); Jalen Suggs, Gonzaga ($8,000); Ikenna Ndugba, Elon ($6,400); D'Moi Hodge, Cleveland State ($5,200)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Daniel Oladapo, Oakland ($8,400)

Oladapo hasn't been under 30 DraftKings points in over a month. His streak of three consecutive double-doubles came to an end last night by one rebound, but he still put up another strong 34.75 tally. Cleveland State did a decent job on Oladapo in the first game of their twin bill spanning two days in early February. That was the last game in which he was under 30 DraftKings points. They couldn't hold Oladapo down in the second game and likely wont here either. Corey Kispert and Drew Timme have higher upside, but this game figures to be closer. I'm going for the lower ownership and hoping for another high-scoring game between these two teams.

Kevin Obanor, Oral Roberts ($7,300)

You would be surprised at the amount of DFS players that build based on game logs alone. That's what I'm targeting here. Obanor has committed nine fouls in the two games of the Summit League tournament so far, which had led to two very underwhelming games from a DFS perspective since he has only played about 25 minutes in each. Dig a little deeper and you will see just how big of a problem Obanor was for the Bison in both games this year. Obanor racked up 104 DraftKings points in 75 minutes against North Dakota State this year and committed five total fouls in the two games. I'm betting on the Bison not being able to handle Obanor again. He looks like a spectacular bargain at this price.

Malik Jefferson, Mount St. Mary's ($5,500)

Mezie Offurum is out for the Mountaineers tonight, so it should mean more run for Jefferson. Jefferson has had a nice run through the NEC tournament with 54 DraftKings points over the last two games with Offurum in the lineup. With Offurum out, it will be Jefferson or Nana Opoku who picks up the slack. Opoku was already playing more minutes. Jefferson is playing about 27 per game lately. Here's hoping he gets up over 30 tonight. That would mean nice output for this price range.

Isaiah Mucius, Wake Forest ($4,800)

This is the weak spot for the Irish, but it's also the weak spot for Wake. If you have the money for Durham, use him instead. If not, Mucius is the only consistent producer in the Wake frontcourt. He put up 21.5 DraftKings points on the Irish the first time around. That's a solid total for a value play. This is a slate of great uncertainty when it comes to value picks tonight. However, some value is necessary if you want the higher usage guys on the slate. Mucius seems the least likely to screw us over and he has the best matchup for forwards on the entire slate.

Also consider: Drew Timme, Gonzaga ($8,500); Micah Parrish, Oakland ($7,100); Juwan Durham, Notre Dame ($5,800); Grant Nelson, North Dakota State ($4,000)
