Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Feeling As Strong As He Did In 2018
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays first/third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said he feels as strong as he did before the 2018 season. Guerrero lost 42 pounds this offseason and is looking leaner ahead of the 2021 season after a down year at the plate in the shortened 2020 season. Despite the underwhelming stats, the 21-year-old still placed in the top seven percent of the league in exit velocity and hard-hit rate while posting an above-average home run per fly ball rate, despite his reduced launch angle. While it is the time of year to wax poetic about best-shape-of-life stories, a leaner, meaner Guerrero could be a legitimate terror at the plate for Toronto in 2021. Fantasy investors who believe in the breakout will have to use a top-60 pick on the budding star.
