Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (03/4/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! Welcome back guys to the coverage of the First CDL Major of the 2021 Season! Great to be back as this weekend the best of the best are going to be taking each other on this weekend! Last week I was taken by surprise as the Dallas Empire pulled off a huge game and managed to sweep the LA Thieves and my lineups out of the way. Who knows there's a chance we could see a rematch coming into this weekend.

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test! My Name is Koby and I'll be here all season long to help guide you through the COD DFS world. Welcome back to another great weekend of COD DFS! We have 4 games on our first slate of the Major as both LA teams battle to see who is the King of LA, Optic Chicago has a tough match going up against the New York Subliners. Paris Legion looks to keep their momentum as the Florida Mutineers attempt to jump back into contention. Last but not least we have Minnesota Rokkr taking on a Toronto team that barely beat London who is the worst in the league.

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Thursday, March 4th, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Atlanta Home Series

Best of 5

  • New York Subliners (+120) vs. Optic Chicago (-155)
  • LA Thieves (-350) vs. LA Guerrillas (+245)
  • Minnesota Rokkr vs. Toronto Ultra
  • Paris Legion vs. Florida Mutineers

 Slate Overview

This is going to be a great bounce-back game for the LA Thieves. They were so close multiple times to pushing Dallas to one more game but couldn't stop Huke and Illey from breaking their dreams of a perfect record. They are now going up against the LA Guerrillas team that is 2-3 on the year with lackluster wins over Toronto and Paris. This is a perfect game for the LA Thieves to get back on track and warm-up for the very tough road ahead as the winner of this match moves on to play against the Atlanta FaZe in the Quarter-Finals. Give me LA Thieves to win here though by either sweep or a 3-1 win where Guerrillas pull out a close one in SnD where the Guerrillas have been fairly good at this season.

This is going to be a fun one. NYS taking on Optic. Asim and Clayster are playing at elite levels right now and DiamondCon has stepped up big time as they need the rookie to continue to play well if they have any chance of beating Optic. This is going to be a close one but I'm gonna pick the Dog here. NYS has been playing really well and even if they took a disappointing loss against Dallas they still were leading them 2-0 going into the third map and that's impressive. I have a feeling this match goes to 5 games and is going to be very bloody. The crazy thing is too, DK priced Asim way down and can give us extremely high scoring in a 5 game series.

Paris and Florida. Wow, it's like I have already written about this game before and I was all over Florida just for them to go and get swept by Paris. I just know though if I go to Paris they are going to bomb and that is not going to look good. Therefore I'm just looking at players in this one. Skrapz and Classic are playing insanely well right now and I love their price. Aqua is way too overpriced and I don't want any of that. Fire has been mediocre at best and didn't look good last time they played. On the other side. Owakening and Neptune are still playing really well and Skyz has stepped up his game coming up huge against Seattle today to score themselves another shot to make it back into this tournament. If Florida has a chance at winning this it's going to because of Skyz.

Last but not least. Minnesota who somehow managed to end up on the easy side of the bracket gets a great matchup against Toronto who has just not played well so far this season. This is going to be a great chance for Minnesota to make a run at getting back into the Finals from the Elimination side of the bracket. Look for Minnesota to pull out a sweep here. Minnesota has been really good at Snd and Control this season and has improved in Hardpoint. If this does go to game 4 It's because Toronto pulls out a close one on the first hardpoint and Minnesota finishes them the rest of the way out.

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Slasher: Slasher can put on the heat in games. It sucks that he wasn't able to help propel his team to a win against Dallas, because getting that extra hardpoint game can get Slasher an insane amount of extra kills. He averages over 25 kills per 10 minutes in Hardpoint. That has him 8th in the league, He also has a 1.09 K/D and a 1.16 K/D in hardpoint. He is also very consistent in other game modes as well and can put up a lot of kills. The matchup against LAG is a great one as well, as Slasher can do well in 3 games with the sweep bonus but also can do well in that 2nd hardpoint match and make up for lost time. He is averaging 80 kills in matches that last 4-5 games. I also like the discount we are getting on him at 9.8k compared to three other players at 10k or more.

Dashy: In a very close match game this could be. I love Dashy in this spot. He is averaging 116 DKP per match. All but one of those matches were games that went to game 4 or 5. He is scoring at an insane level and is averaging 87 kills in those games as well and has gone positive in every single one as well. He is playing at a very high level right now and should be considered in your lineups whether you think Optic or New York wins this. If this match goes 4 or 5 games, good chance that Dashy is going to be killing at a high rate and scoring well in the process. He is one of few players that would be reliant on a sweep bonus to score in the 120+ DKP direction.  He has 1.18 overall K/D and is leading his team in every K/D category in all game modes.

Other captain plays: Clayster, Accuracy, Owakening, Envoy

COD DFS Value Plays

Asim: Asim has a 1.10 K/D and is currently 7th in the League with that. DK put this man at 7k. This is a massive mistake. He does have a tough task ahead of him against Optic but this is too juicy of a matchup to ignore. He has the ability to drop 80+ kills and score well in doing so. In the last two games, he hasn't been optimal averaging only 92 DKP in the last two but he is only 7k!! We don't a 120+ DKP game from him at that price. Would it be nice? Hell Yes, it would be, but this is a tough matchup, and as long as they don't get blown out he should still score well as even when they were swept against LA Thieves at the beginning of the year he still had 109 points. His price is hard to ignore and he is probably going to be high owned and in cash games, he should be considered highly.

Priestahh: This is a really good spot for Priestahh and it's nice to see Minnesota players spread out amongst the salaries as they have been all close together the last few slates. At 7.4k this is a really good matchup against a very suspect Toronto team that I'm not sure what their deal is. They barely made it past a London team that had to bring in a last-minute player as Alexx is out for personal reasons. Priestahh has scored well in games that they have won and I expect that trend to continue into this one. If Minnesota manages to sweep Priestahh could score very well for his price. He has flashed games of upside with a game of 105 kills against Dallas. and three games of 100+ DKP.

Other value plays: Temp, FormaL, Mack, Skrapz, Methodz (Punt)

COD DFS Stacks

LA Thieves: This is the team I would look to as the most likely to sweep. They are coming off a rough loss against Dallas and this is going to be a great place for them to bounce-back and get back on track for the rest of this tournament. Temp is really cheap and I like the matchup and it gives him a chance to reset and get back to how well he was doing before the last game where he was averaging over 100 DKP per match. He has also involved himself more in the hill time on hardpoint which is extra points that I like. Kenny still dropped over 100 DKP in their loss against Dallas where he dropped 67 kills and looked a lot better than his previous two games and I like his price a lot better than TJ. TJ has fallen hard since his 160 DKP game. He has gone negative the last two games and averaged 78 DKP which is very low for him. He's a little bit expensive here and therefore he isn't someone I'm looking at heavily. Slasher has been lights out this season and I expect that to continue here.

Minnesota: Minnesota is getting another great matchup here against a lower-level team. They have swept both Seattle and London this year and have been great against the bottom 6 of the league. This is a great spot for another sweep or at least a 4 game match. Toronto has not looked great so far this season barely pulling out wins against London and losing to Paris and LAG. Accuracy and Attach are definitely the plays I'm looking for here as they are the top plays on the team. MajorManiak improved in the last game after a poor start to the season but Priestahh's price is too intriguing with the possibility of a sweep in the air and he has more upside than Major has. This is a great spot for Priestahh who thrives in games where the team as a whole is playing well.

Other Team Plays: New York Subliners, Optic Chicago

Summary

  1. TLDR: LA Thieves 3-0, NYS 3-2, Paris 3-2, Minnesota 3-0
  2. Thieves and Rokkr are most likely to sweep as they have the favorable matchups here. Top Stacks in Cash Games.
  3. Players in both the NYS/Optic and Florida/Paris game should be looked at as well. I think this is going to be a close affair in both games. I like the Optic game first though and probably would look at the Florida game more in GPPs
  4. Florida, LAG, and Toronto are going to be the lowest owned. Florida I think has the best chance at an upset here, they looked better against Seattle today and could carry momentum in against Paris.
