Eduardo Rodriguez Healthy Heading Into 2021 Season
4 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez (heart), who missed all of the 2020 season after being diagnosed with myocarditis (inflammation of the heart) related to COVID-19, is feeling normal and is ready to take his spot in the team's starting rotation. The 27-year-old left-hander had a career-best season in 2019 with a 3.81 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 213 strikeouts, a 6.0 WAR and a 19-6 record in 34 starts. Walks can get E-Rod into trouble at times, but he has posted a solid 4.03 ERA (3.94 FIP), 1.29 WHIP and a 9.1 K/9 in 127 career outings (122 starts) in his five years with the Red Sox. Assuming he's completely past his heart issues caused by the coronavirus, the 27-year-old southpaw could be an excellent value at his current ADP of 232. Many fantasy managers may be scared off by the fact that he missed all of last season.
