DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (2/2/21): NBA DFS Lineups

Happy February, RotoBallers! We kick off the second day of the second month with six games and 12 teams to build our DFS lineups. Tuesday is usually a smaller slate than the rest of the week, so getting a couple of extra games opens some exciting roster construction opportunities. There are six games on the schedule, but the Detroit Pistons-Denver Nuggets game was postponed yesterday due to contract tracing with COVID-19, and the Pistons play the Utah Jazz tonight. For now, I am staying away until we get more news about that matchup.

Tuesday's schedule has two games with an over/under in the 240-point range. That screams from the rooftops that you need a piece of those games in your DFS lineups. The Portland Trail Blazers head to the nation's capital against the Washington Wizards with a 240 point O/U while the Los Angeles Clippers visit the Brooklyn Nets in a contest with a 246.5 O/U of their own. The Nets, Blazers, and Wizards are some of the fastest teams and offer up a court-sized load of fantasy points. Don't be shy to fill your lineups with players from these games in cash, but they will be reasonably popular, and you'll have to look for some contrarian plays in tournament contests.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 2/2/21. You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks. With COVID-19 a significant factor, remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before lineups lock.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Bradley Beal - SG, WAS vs. POR ($9,900)

The No. 3 pick in the 2012 draft is scoring like it's Pro mode on 2K and has a perfect matchup tonight. In his last ten games, the 27-year old is averaging 36.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals, 3.0 made threes per game, and a whopping 54.68 DraftKings fantasy points per contest. Portland is one of the worst defenses in the league (29th in Defensive Efficiency) and won't contain the two-time All-Star. Damian Lillard and James Harden will be popular building blocks on tonight's slate, but I'll grab the $800-$1,000 discount and snag the Wizard's superstar instead.

Cole Anthony - PG, ORL vs. TOR ($5,500)

Anthony is showing signs that he was well worth a lottery pick in this year's draft. For the season, the No. 15 pick in the year's draft is averaging 23.4 fantasy points per game, but over the last six games, it's bumped up to 26.4 FPPG. In that stretch, the point guard is averaging 12.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 45.0 percent from three-point land. He's tallied at least six assists in four of his last five games and set a new career-high with 21 points against the Charlotte Hornets last week. Anthony's teammate, Aaron Gordon, is sidelined for the next month, and the rookie from North Carolina has a terrific opportunity to establish himself in the Magic's offense.

Terence Davis - TOR at ORL ($4,000)

Another player to monitor in the war on I4 is Terence Davis. The 23-year old could make his third-straight start tonight and has produced some viable fantasy production in his first two opportunities. The sophomore guard averaged 12.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, one steal, and 2.0 threes in his first two starts of the season and will build on that if Norman Powell (quad) sits again.

Bonus guard: Ish Smith - PG, WAS vs. POR ($4,500)

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Jaylen Brown - SF/PF, BOS at GS ($7,800)

Brown's salary hasn't been below $8,000 in 2021, so we will buy-in against the Golden State Warriors tonight. The fifth-year forward is taking another leap this season and is challenging for his first All-Star appearance. In 18 games this season, Brown is averaging 27.1 points, 5,4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 steals while shooting 53.1 percent from the field. The Celtics are a below-average team in terms of pace (101.7 possessions/game), while the Warriors rank second in the league in that category (105.9 possessions/game). This will give Brown and his teammate a few more looks to accumulate counting stats and, more importantly, fantasy points for our DFS lineups tonight.

Jeff Green - PF/C, BKN vs. LAC ($5,400)

Green is on a bit of a hot streak at the moment as the journeyman is averaging 26.9 DKFP in his last six games. He's also recording 13.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals while hitting 50.9 percent of his shots from the field and sinking threes at a 38.5 percent clip. The Clippers enter the contest as one of the better rebounding teams in the league, but Green proves that he doesn't need that category to remain useful in daily fantasy. He's scored at least 21 DKFP in nine of his last 10 games and is a firm value play among tonight's six contests.

Nassir Little - SF/PF, POR at WAS ($3,100)

Let's jump on the hot-hand in Portland while his price is in the bargain bin. Little exploded on Monday night with 30 points, six rebounds, two blocks, a steal, an assist, and five three-pointers. The Trail Blazers are in a pace-up matchup tonight against the league-leading Wizards team. (107.2 possessions/game), and that will give plenty of opportunities for Little to come up big for the second-straight game. C.J. McCollum and Derrick Jones Jr. are dealing with foot injuries, and unless they miraculously come back tonight, DFS managers should grab a valuable piece of this high-scoring contest.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Daniel Theis - PF/C, BOS at GS ($5,000)

With James Wiseman out of the picture, the Warriors are left without a traditional five in their lineup. The lack of frontcourt depth will allow Theis to continue a run of form where he's scored at least 34 DKFP in three of his last six matchups. Overall, the 28-year old is having a similar season to his 2020 campaign, but he is averaging career-highs with 9.7 points and a 61.7 field-goal percentage. The Warriors are the second-worst rebounding team in the league, and Theis has at least six of those in six of his last 10 games. With so many stars available on a Tuesday, there's a need to save money. I am not blown away by any of the center position options, and Theis can give you a good return.

Bonus center: Isaiah Stewart - C, DET at UTA ($3,300)
