Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby scored his 14th career hat trick and recorded one assist as the team shocked the Dallas Stars with a 5-3 road win on Saturday. Dallas suffered only its 10th home loss of the season when Crosby & Co. turned a 3-2 deficit into a win in the final period. Crosby surpassed Evgeni Malkin for the second most hat tricks in Penguins history, trailing only Mario Lemieux (40). He also tied Jaromir Jagr for the second most four-point efforts in franchise history, having notched at least four points in a single game for the 43rd time. Lemieux also holds this record with 124. Crosby is finishing the season strongly and holds a 12-game point streak. He has reached 30 goals for the fourth consecutive campaign and boasts 86 points through 75 outings.

Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby tallied two points during their victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday evening. In the opening frame, Crosby tallied the secondary assist on Rickard Rakell's 32nd goal of the season. Later in the second period, Crosby found the back of the net for his 25th goal of the campaign. This outing extended his current point streak to six games. During this stretch, Crosby has found the back of the net six times and added four helpers. Over his previous 14 games, the 37-year-old has tallied 18 points (eight goals), with three of them coming on the power play. Despite Pittsburgh's struggles, Crosby has remained a high-end scoring option in all standard leagues. He will look to stay hot on Sunday evening against the Florida Panthers.

Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby tallied three points as the team dropped a back-and-forth contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-5 in overtime on Sunday. The legendary forward scored a power-play goal and sent out two even-strength assists. With his Sunday's marker, Crosby moved past Bobby Hull for 18th place on the NHL's all-time goals list. He also entered the all-time top 10 in assists, leaving behind Gordie Howe. Through 1,333 career games, Crosby has posted 611 goals and 1050 assists. The Penguins' leader has been in fine form throughout the 2024-25 campaign, totaling 65 points (19 goals, 48 assists) in 61 games. However, it seems Crosby's contributions will likely not be enough for Pittsburgh's efforts to avoid a third consecutive year without any postseason action.

Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby (rest) is considered a game-time decision for Saturday's contest against the Washington Capitals. Before the international break, Crosby missed two contests. However, the 37-year-old was able to play in all four of Team Canada's contests. Crosby found the back of the net once and added four helpers en route to leading them to the championship. However, given the minor injury before the break and playing four games in the tournament, the Penguins may opt to give Crosby the day off on Saturday afternoon. In addition, center Evgeni Malkin (lower body) is expected to return to action, which would help bolster the Pittsburgh top six. If Crosby were to sit out, Malkin would take his spot on the top unit alongside Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell.
