Wednesday’s NBA slate is a DFS player’s dream. Twenty-four teams will be in action across twelve games, with just three of those teams completing a back-to-back. Best of all, the night features a showdown between the current leaders of the Eastern and Western Conferences, as LeBron James and the Lakers make their way to Philly for a showdown with the Sixers.
That much action can also be a curse for a DFS player. With so many options available, there are both booms and busts to be found all over the schedule.

FanDuel DFS Guards
Stephen Curry, PG - GS vs. MIN ($9,600)
The Warriors star has been on fire of late, topping 40 fantasy points in each of his last four outings. Curry has made five or more 3-pointers in his last three games, averaging 30 points per game in that span. Against a Minnesota team that’s allowed the second most fantasy points to point guards, Curry looks poised to keep his hot scoring streak rolling.
It’s worth mentioning that Curry also always seems to have a little extra something in games against Minnesota, the team who drafted two point guards just before Golden State selected him. He’s posted 28.5 points and 7.5 assists in 31 games against the Timberwolves, some of his highest marks against any opponent. On Monday, he went off for 36 points and nabbed 3 steals versus Minnesota.
Derrick Rose, SG - DET @ CLE ($6,100)
Rose was on a roll just a few weeks ago, with two games of more than 20 points and 4 rebounds in successive games against Miami. He followed that up with two mediocre performances, before missing some time with knee soreness.
He’ll return to the lineup, rested and ready, for Wednesday’s game in Cleveland. Against the young Cavaliers backcourt, the veteran Rose should look to attack in the paint and kickstart the Detroit offense.
Darius Garland, PG - CLE vs DET ($5,200)
After missing a stretch of games with a shoulder injury, Garland came back to the Cleveland lineup and posted modest offensive numbers since his return. According to reports, his minutes restriction will be lifted on Wednesday.
Based on the way he was playing prior to the injury, that’s great news for DFS players. In the first five games of his second NBA season, Garland averaged 19 points and 7 assists. If he can return to that form, he’s undervalued at his current price.

FanDuel DFS Forwards
Royce O'Neale, PF – UTA vs DAL ($4,500)
When looking for valued, low-priced players to round out a lineup, too many DFS players prioritize an option that might have a breakout scoring performance. That tends to overlook the glue guy who can stuff the stat sheet in other ways.
O’Neale is second on the Jazz in minutes per game and rebounds per game, while shooting Utah’s best 3-point percentage. Few players in O’Neale’s price range can be relied on to produce consistent fantasy points, which opens the rest of your lineup for some higher salaried stars.
Brandon Ingram, SF – NOP vs WAS ($7,500)
The Wizards are the only team playing the second night of a road back-to-back Wednesday, which should put them in a difficult spot to hang with a fresh New Orleans team. The Wizards are also playing at the fastest tempo in the NBA so far this season, which should give the Pelicans plenty of chances to rack up stats.
With those advantages in his favor, Brandon Ingram is an enticing choice Wednesday. He leads the Pels in field goal attempts and assists, stepping up to take the reins as New Orleans’ offensive leader. That should continue Wednesday with a big game from Ingram.
Evan Fournier, SF - ORL vs SAC ($5,900)
The Kings defense continues to perform at historically bad levels. On a per possession basis, the Kings alone occupy the bottom tier of NBA defenses, allowing 1.197 points every trip down the floor.
That makes every Sacramento opponent an intriguing DFS play, but there’s particularly value in offensive creators. The Kings have tended to have breakdowns with helps, switches, and communication. A savvy ball handler like Fournier, who is topping 18 points per game this season, should be ready to take full advantage.
FanDuel DFS Centers
Joel Embiid, C PHI vs LAL ($9,800)
The early season MVP candidate enters Wednesday’s marquee match-up having not played since Saturday. As I highlighted in last Wednesday’s FanDuel picks, Embiid’s production coming off 3 or more days of rest spiked last year. That’s been the case this year as well, with the big man posting 32 points and 12 rebounds per game on three such occasions this season. That sample size includes last week’s first tilt with Boston, where Embiid was returning after a stretch of rest and notched 42 points and 10 rebounds.
Even against the big lineup of the Lakers, Embiid is worth a play when coming off rest. He should continue his best season yet, no matter the opponent. He’s an MVP candidate, but costs less than Clint Capela? Don’t overthink it.
