Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen scored a second straight hat trick in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Winnipeg Jets, pushing his team to a 3-2 victory. There had previously been only two occasions in Stanley Cup Playoffs history where a player had scored back-to-back hat tricks. Rantanen's efforts in front of the net gave Dallas a 3-1 lead from a 1-0 deficit, making him the first player in franchise history with a natural hat trick in the playoffs. We have seen incredible work from Rantanen over the past few games, as he has posted three-plus points in four consecutive outings. The Finnish superstar is now the postseason leader in goals (8) and points (15).

Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen tallied four points -- all in the second period -- during Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. The former Avalanche player registered one goal and three assists, tying the NHL record for the most points in a playoff period. Incredibly, Roope Hintz also had four points (two goals, two assists) as Dallas earned a 4-3 lead, marking the NHL's first instance of teammates each recording four points in a playoff period. Rantanen contributed just one assist in the first four games of the series, but he has suddenly kicked into gear with two goals and five assists over the last two contests. He should be highly motivated to maintain his form in Game 7 against the team that traded him in January.

Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen accumulated three points in Monday's big 6-2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche. His former teammates had held Rantanen to just one point through four games, but he returned to form on Monday night with a goal and two assists. Rantanen's first goal of the postseason, scored early in the second period, turned out to be the game-winning goal. It has been a slow start to the playoffs for Rantanen, but he is one of the most productive players in Stanley Cup Playoffs history, and it was only a matter of time before the Finnish star regained his rhythm on the offensive end.
