ANALYSIS: Lost in the aftermath of the Nets-Rockets trade was the fact that a basketball lineup is made out of five, not three players. Even with all of Durant, Irving, and Harden locked as starters, Brooklyn still needs to put two more guys on the court nightly to go with its shiny Big Three. Enter Jeff Green, he the former Thunder.
The Nets have played three games through Thursday since Harden arrived, one with the full Big Three available, and Green has started all of those games playing 29, 37, and 45 (in a double-OT match, though) minutes. The thing about having such a potent offense and being part of it, is that Green is benefiting a lot from the spaces KD/Harden/Kyrie generate. The results? One, four, and four triples in the last three games, 10+ points in each of those matches, and an incredible 62+ shooting percentage from the floor in every game.
Green is not going to log high usage rates, as it should be the case. He will shoot between 5 and 8 shots per game at most. But odds are at least 75% of those looks are wide open, and that he ends hitting north of 60% of them on a nightly basis for his good 10-to-15 PPG. Green can contribute rebounds too, with an average of 5.1 RPG in his last seven games and 5.7 since the Big Three was formed. If you need to boost your FG%/3P% and need some points/treys with some rebounding upside, Green is one of the best and widely available players you should WW-target this week.
