Warlley Alves (14-4) dominated with his kicks in Wednesday's co-main event. Just 2:35 into the first round is all Alves needed to rebound from his most recent defeat. Alves stepped in there with a difficult foe in the hometown favorite Mounir Lazzez, who was victorious in his UFC debut. Alves pounded the midsection with kicks, leading to Lazzez dropping to the mat and forcing the referee to call a stop to the action. Just recently turning 30 years old, Alves has plenty of time to begin his push up the welterweight ranks. Lazzez was a highly touted prospect, so for Alves to score a victory over him is huge.--Matt Bricker

Warlley Alves suffered a first-round TKO loss to Ikram Alsikerov at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Alves was stepping up to middleweight to fill in for Nassourdine Imavov who had some traveling issues ahead of this event. Aliskerov dropped Alves with a jab, then he landed a flying knee and finished Alves with a barrage of punches. In 2:07 of action, Alves landed 12 significant strikes. It was Alves' third straight defeat, and he's now 8-7 inside the Octagon.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBaller
