Semyon Varlamov Tabbed For Opening Night Start
4 years agoNew York Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov will be between the pipes for the team's first game of the season on Thursday. The 32-year-old netminder will probably split starts with promising rookie Ilya Sorokin for most of the campaign. This caps both players' fantasy ceilings, but they are viable options in net whenever they start. Varlamov posted a 19-14-6 record last season to go along with a 2.62 goals-against average and .914 save percentage. He is a mid-tier streaming option for Thursday's game against the New York Rangers.
