New York Adds Taj Gibson To Fold, Releases Omari Spellman
4 years agoThe New York Knicks and power forward/center Taj Gibson have agreed to a reunion, bringing the veteran back into the fold, where he is likely to join the Knicks' bench depth. In order to make room on the roster, the Knicks waived Omari Spellman, who was yet to appear in a game this year due to persistent injuries. Gibson started 56 games for New York last year, but averaged just 16.5 minutes per game, which when combined with his 6.1 PPG and 4.3 RPG averages, makes him a fantasy non-entity in season-long formats for the time being. The move reunites Gibson with head coach Tom Thibodeau, so the possibility of him cracking the rotation in the near future remains high.
