Matt Schaub Retiring
4 years agoAtlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank said on Monday that veteran quarterback Matt Schaub is retiring. Schaub will finish his career in the NFL at 39 years old after playing 16 seasons with the Falcons, Texans, Ravens and Raiders. He began his career as a third-round pick of the Falcons back in 2004 out of Virginia. Schaub spent the first three years of his career in Atlanta before heading to Houston, where he spent seven seasons and had his best years with Pro Bowl selections in 2009 and 2012. Schaub's best season came in that '09 campaign, throwing for a league-high 4,770 yards (298.1 yards per game) with a career-high 29 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He's been mostly a backup since 2014. Schaub will finish his career with 25,467 passing yards, 136 touchdowns and 91 interceptions over 155 games (93 starts).
