Alshon Jeffery, Malik Jackson Restructure Contracts
4 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles restructured the contracts of wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and defensive tackle Malik Jackson on Monday, according to sources. The moves will give the team some salary cap relief in 2021 and will force them to make decisions on the players before next spring. Jeffery was a healthy scratch in the Week 17 regular season finale against the Washington Football Team. The 30-year-old veteran didn't make his 2020 debut until Week 10 after having offseason foot surgery, and he caught just six passes on 13 targets for 115 yards and a touchdown in seven games this season. The Eagles will likely trade or release Jeffery this offseason with DeSean Jackson, Jalen Reagor, Greg Ward Jr., Travis Fulgham, John Hightower and Quez Watkins at the position in 2021 and beyond.
