Houston Waives C.J. Prosise
4 years agoHouston Texans running back C.J. Prosise was released Monday, thereby shortening the team's backfield options for Week 17 versus Tennessee. Prosise appeared in a career-high 10 games with the Texans this year, carrying the ball 10 times for 19 yards, while also adding his first receiving touchdown. Having battled an ankle injury as of late, it's unlikely that Prosise would both be added by a new team and clear his ailment in time to take the field to close out 2020. The transaction all but confirms that David Johnson is expected to handle another whopping workload versus the Titans, with Buddy Howell likely to serve as his backup should Duke Johnson (neck) not get the thumbs up to return.
