Frank Gore To Miss Week 17 Finale
4 years agoNew York Jets running back Frank Gore (lung), who became the third player in NFL history to run for 16,000 yards in the Week 16 win over the Browns, will not play in Week 17 against the Patriots due to a lung contusion. Gore ran the ball 14 times for 48 yards against Cleveland and added a five-yard reception in what could be the future Hall of Famer's final NFL game. With the veteran out of the picture in the season finale, rookie La'Mical Perine should get more run alongside Ty Johnson. If Week 16 turned out to be Gore's final game, he'll finish his storied career with exactly 16,000 rushing yards on 3,735 carries and 81 touchdowns in 241 career games. He also added 484 receptions for 3,985 yards and 18 receiving touchdowns. Perine will be little more than an RB3/flex in deep leagues for Week 17.
