Matthew Stafford Diagnosed With Sprained Ankle
4 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (ankle) was diagnosed with a sprained ankle and could miss Week 17. Stafford left Saturday's loss against Tampa Bay after the first series and never returned, which is probably not a good sign for his availability in Week 17 against the Vikings. While Stafford is among the toughest players in the league, it wouldn't be in the best interest of a 5-10 team to push their limited quarterback out there with nothing to play for. In all likelihood, Chase Daniel will be under center for Detroit, which will severely limit the upside of all Lions' pass-catchers.
