Antonio Gibson Set To Play, Terry McLaurin Likely Out
4 years agoWashington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson (ankle) is expected to suit up while wide receiver Terry McLaurin (ankle) is trending towards sitting out the contest against the Panthers. Gibson's reps were limited in practice all week, which was in stark contrast to McLaurin, whose ankle injury kept him off the practice field, leaving him doubtful at best. Carolina was gashed by opposing halfbacks earlier in the year, though they've allowed the ninth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position over the last four weeks. Gibson should still be started as a solid RB2 if active. As for the pass-catchers, the biggest beneficiary of McLaurin's absence is likely tight end Logan Thomas, who is coming off a 13-catch, 101-yard effort in Week 15. Thomas should be started as a strong TE1 while the receivers for Washington are best avoided in redraft leagues.
