My name is Koby and I'll be here to help make those tough decisions on who to play and who not to play in your DFS contests!

CS:GO DFS Picks

Best of 3 Series

  • Vitality (-375) vs. BiG (+250)
  • Astralis (-650) vs. Complexity (+400)
  • Natus Vincere (-220) vs. FURIA (+160)

Captain Plays:

S1mple: S1mple is the best player in the world, if his team was better, there would be no doubt in my mind that Natus Vincere would be the best team in the world. Last match S1mple went +13 in a game where Natus was Swept against Astralis, still dropping 45 kills. Natus also just played against Furia and swept them where S1mple also went +13 on the day. He is our most expensive play on the slate, but he is well worth the price because you get protection even in a loss as S1mple still scores well in losses. He currently holds a 1.56 K/D, and gets .92 kills per round, and only dies .59 times per round. S1mple hasn't had a negative game since October. He is more than likely going to be chalky but he is one player worth the chalk!

Device: You honestly can't go wrong between picking Device or ZywOo in this position and I can't argue against either of them. I only picked Device because of the matchup. Astralis has the largest odds on the slate and Device does tend to do well in a sweep. Astralis has been one of the best teams recently and only losing matches to Vitality and Natus Vincere which are respectable losses. They have been completely dominant in the last two tournaments. The only thing that worries me is that this game might end quickly leading to most of Astralis not scoring as well as they can, but if trends continue, Complexity has made their games competitive and that could lead to a blood bath of a match. He has a 1,36 K/D with .81 kills per round and a minimal .60 deaths per round.

Other captain plays: ZywOo, yuurih(GPP), Syrson(GPP), dupreeh, electronic, blameF, or k0nfig (Deep GPP, can smash in some spots)

Value Plays:

gla1ve: Gla1ve continues to play well and FD will continue to make him cheap. He is the cheapest player on Astralis once again and they have the best odds to sweep which is mainly what we are looking for in value plays. Gla1ve presents us with an upside though that a lot of value plays don't tend to have. He can go off at any time on any map. Last game against Vitality he looked Atrocious but that's the risk that comes with most value plays. They do have a more reasonable matchup against Complexity. I do like his price more on FD than I do on DK, as he is a little pricey on DK. He has a 1.01 K/D and gets .67 kills per round and .65 deaths per round.

Boombl4: Never did I think I would be talking about Boombl4, The reason I do is completely pricing related. Boombl4 is not that great, but for a team with a high chance at sweeping and who did so just last week against FURIA, puts him into contention. Boombl4 is a player that will more than likely go negative. But at 8,400 on FD and the minimum price on DK, it's hard to ignore the fact that we are looking for just the sweep bonus to get us by so that we can afford the upper-tier players. Don't expect him to have a lot of kills or to go positive just hope for the sweep bonus when rostering him. We also get the safety in rostering him knowing he won't be subbed out.

Other Value Plays: RPK, VINI, Perfecto, tizian(GPP), misutaaa(HIGH RISK), Rush(PUNT)

Top Stacks/ Team Picks:

Vitality: After a map one loss against BiG in their last meeting together, Vitality put the big boy pants on and absolutely demolished BiG winning 32-3 in the reverse sweep. Vitality gave absolutely no hope to BiG having a chance at winning. I don't see much of a difference coming into this game. Vitality has played against BiG 8 times in almost two years and Vitality has won 7 of those meetings. Vitality has been on it recently and has been destroying competition and I expect that to continue coming into this tournament. The only hesitation I have coming into this match is the use of Nivera as he has been subbed into at least one map in each of the last 5 games. Putting misutaaa, Shox, and nivera as all risky plays. Zywoo should always be considered as a top play on the slate and can be the highest scoring player on the slate at any given moment. RPK and apEX have also been playing well, so they should be considered in making your lineups as well!

Astralis: Our chalk stack of the day is Astralis as they have the largest odds on the slate, Complexity is down a man as Poizon has dropped out due to medical reasons, meaning Complexity is going to be bringing in an emergency player which could put Complexity at a significant disadvantage. A lot are going to look at the odds and see how largely favored Astralis is and are going to stack them up. So if you are looking to avoid as much chalk as possible, it might be time to look at other teams to stack.

Astralis just got destroyed in their match against Vitality in the finals of the most recent tournament in the maps that they lost, losing 32-9. Complexity is nowhere close to the level that Vitality is on so, look for Device to lead this team to what might be a quick victory over a lost Complexity team. All players are in play on Astralis except for Xyp9x who has been subbed out for Bubzjki on the map Nuke. Which was a map that was picked in their last meeting between these two teams. So the risk is there.

Other Top Stacks/ Teams: Natus Vincere, FURIA (GPP)

Sub-Risks:

I wanted to add this little piece to the article as recently, 6 man rosters have become more prominent in the bigger name teams as they can afford to do it. This is not saying any of these plays are bad, it's more of showing that these players could get subbed leading them to score poorly.

Vitality: Nivera, Misutaaa, and shox.

Astralis: Xyp9x, Bubzjki

Natus Vincere: Flamie, B1T

Complexity: Poizon is out with a medical emergency he will not be playing in this tournament.

Good luck in your contests, RotoBallers, and make sure to keep stopping back for more CS:GO analysis!
