Delon Wright is a fantasy basketball draft sleeper for the 2020-2021 NBA season. Target him as a value pick in this season's fantasy drafts.
BALLER MOVE: Target Around 130 Overall
CURRENT ADP: 142
ANALYSIS: Wright has always been a solid rotational guard in the league and a player you were happy to pick up when injuries happened to players in front of him. Now in Detroit, the veteran guard could find a nice role with Derrick Rose and rookie Killian Hayes in the rotation to get minutes.
His 26 games with Memphis from last season feel like a nice baseline for what we could expect from Wright. He he averaged 30.8 minutes, 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.6 steals a game. Now in Detroit, he will play for coach Dwane Casey, who has always liked versatile guards--including Kyle Lowry and Reggie Jackson, who both were good fantasy players in their time with Casey at the helm. That's a plus for Wright's upside.
Wright finished last season with just above 1,500 minutes played through the whole year, although those were more than enough for him to finish as a top-120 player in 2020. Wright was also one of just 11 players (min. 600 minutes played) to finish the year averaging 3+ rebounds, 3+ dimes, and 1+ steal per game while shooting at least .450/.350/.750 from the field/three/free-throw line. Of course, Wright has the lowest ADP among those in that group with the remainder players averaging a quite-high 37 combined ADP.
