Lou Williams is a fantasy basketball draft sleeper for the 2020-2021 NBA season. Target him as a value pick in this season's fantasy drafts.
BALLER MOVE: Target Around 108 Overall
CURRENT ADP: 134
ANALYSIS: We know what Lou Williams is: a role, off-the-pine player. Okay, now that we have covered all of Lou's negatives we can start focusing on the positives. Lou, even though starting just eight of 65 games last season, still played 28.7 mpg for a combined total of 1,864. That's not bad at all, and the truth is that he made the most out of those chances as he finished the year averaging a way-above-average 1.11 FP/min and 31.7 FPPG.
Not many subs are as productive as Lou was for the Clips. Williams ranked as the 20th-best guard-eligible player last season, yet he's getting drafted with 58th-highest ADP this offseason... Williams' 18-3-5 average line from 2020 was the only one league-wide and all positions considered for players at or below 30 mpg. Only Derrick Rose (50 games, 26 mpg) and Stephen Curry (5 games, 27.9 mpg) came close to Williams' averages.
Before you draft Lou too high, consider his situation. Williams will stay a bench player for the LA Clippers, so factor that into your decision. That being said, you can do much worse while filling the bench of your roster in fantasy leagues. Lou is an absolute monster off the pine and will have a couple of new additions that could boost his assists this season in Serge Ibaka (and Ivica Zubac) and Luke Kennard in the second unit.
