Leonard Fournette Takes A Backseat In Blowout Win
4 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette handled 10 touches but produced just 30 scoreless scrimmage yards in a blowout win over the Panthers. Fournette was out-touched and outplayed by teammate Ronald Jones II, who exploded for a career-high 198 scrimmage yards with a touchdown. This backfield seems like a hot hand situation, though it's worth noting that Jones probably cut himself a larger slice of the pie with his effort. Still, Fournette will likely retain the pass-catching role, which should give him flex value at the least. He could have value next week against a Rams Defense susceptible to pass-catching running backs.
