Matt Breida Ruled Out Against Cardinals
4 years agoMiami Dolphins running back Matt Breida (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 9 against the Cardinals. Myles Gaskin (knee) was placed on Injured Reserve earlier this week, which means the Dolphins will have to lean on Jordan Howard to step up after he's been a healthy scratch each of the last three games. Second-year back Patrick Laird and undrafted rookie Salvon Ahmed are also expected to have roles on Sunday, too, which makes Howard more of a low-upside, touchdown-dependent RB3/flex for RB-needy fantasy managers. Laird figures to see time as a pass-catcher, which could make him a deep sleeper in PPR formats. Ahmed has yet to be active in 2020. Howard will likely see work on early downs and short-yardage situations. DeAndre Washington was acquired in a trade at the deadline on Tuesday, but he isn't eligible to play due to COVID-19 protocols.
