Lions Sign Mohamed Sanu
4 years agoThe Detroit Lions signed wide receiver Mohamed Sanu to their practice squad on Friday. Sanu played in three games with the 49ers before being cut this year, catching his only target for nine yards. A third-round pick of the Bengals in 2012, the veteran receiver was traded from the Falcons to the Patriots at midseason in 2019, but he failed to live up to expectations for a New England team that needed more production from their receivers. Sanu had 59 catches for 520 yards and only two touchdowns in his 12 games with Atlanta and New England last season. With Kenny Golladay (hip) likely out this week and in danger of missing more time, the Lions brought Sanu in for more depth at the position. Expect Detroit to use three-receiver sets consisting of Marvin Jones Jr., Danny Amendola and Marvin Hall on Sunday against Minnesota.
