Aaron Rodgers Will Have To Carry The Load Against 49ers
4 years agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will have to compete with possibly a severely decimated backfield Thursday night against the 49ers in Week 9. Aaron Jones (calf) will be a game-time decision, A.J. Dillon has been placed on the COVID list and Jamaal Williams may also miss the game because of close-contact protocols. This leaves the offense in the hands of Rodgers up against a 49ers Defense that is allowing the 13th fewest fantasy points to opposing passers. The 49ers have been fantastic holding quarterbacks in check this season until the Seahawks Russell Wilson ripped them up for four touchdown passes. Rodgers has passed for three or more touchdowns in five of his first seven games this season and should have plenty of pass attempts in this matchup. The future Hall of Famer has a strong chance at posting top-8 numbers among quarterbacks in Week 9.
