Brandon Belt Undergoes Surgery On Right Heel
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (heel) underwent surgery to remove a bone spur in his right heel last week, and the procedure was performed by ankle specialist Dr. Robert Anderson. Belt traveled home last weekend and is set to begin his rehab process and physical therapy this week. The 32-year-old hit a cool .309 with a 1.016 OPS, nine home runs and 30 RBI in 51 games during the shortened 2020 season. With plenty of time until now and spring training in 2021, Belt should have plenty of time to heal up, barring any sort of setback. The left-handed hitter is unlikely to repeat for a batting average over .300 in a full season and remains on a team in more of a rebuilding phase, so his 2020 numbers shouldn't inflate his fantasy price next season.
