Cam Newton's Status Still Up In The Air
4 years agoBased on NFL rules, since 10 days have passed since New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for COVID-19, he could return to the team for Week 6 against the Broncos as long as he has not shown any symptoms. But head coach Bill Belichick continues to remain non-committal on whether Newton will be available in Week 6 against Denver after the game was pushed out of Week 5. There seems to be a good chance that the 31-year-old will play this Sunday, but it's not a guarantee. If he's unable to get clearance, Jarrett Stidham would likely receive the start against Denver. Newton will have QB1 upside for fantasy managers, if he plays, against a Broncos Defense that is extremely banged up and vulnerable at all levels.
